Learning What's Important

Six years ago last month I became a stay-at-home Mom and one of the first things I had to learn was ..... what is really important! To each and every one of us things at the top of our important list are usually pretty similar! When my friends and I talk about these things the first things I usually hear are family, friends, God, money ...... but is money really important? I mean, I know we have to have it to get by, but do we really need as much money as we're ingrained to believe we do? I'm going to try to spend less on things that aren't important this year and focus more on making our lives better! I guess maybe I'll be giving the Joneses a lot to talk about because I'm not keeping up with them ...... I never have, but I'm going to care a lot less about how it looks to everyone else and more about how it looks to me and my family! I'm going to stop trying to buy my way outta my down times and start improving what I have! Who people think we are does NOT have to define who we really are does it? Why do we put so much value on how people look at us? If I were to believe everything I've ever heard about myself I'd never come out of the depression it would cause!! Just remember folks ...... if you can get up every day and look yourself in the eyes in the mirror then you're a step ahead of a lot of people!
